Low Viscosity Solution

• No starch or colloid:
• Water-like viscosity for easier diffusion and faster cooling time
• A higher rate of late biliary complications has been reported in UW-preserved livers when compared to
  Custodiol® HTK-preserved organs, in both deceased and living donor liver transplants. ^2,3

Reduced Rates of Delayed Graft Function in Kidney Transplantation

• Custodiol® HTK "may in fact provide better protection for the prevention of delayed graft function compared to UW solution" with lower rates of DGF (HTK:16% vs. UW:56%; PO.005) compared to UW with extended kidney preservation times >24hrs. ¹

Low Potassium: No Need to Pre-flush

• Custodiol® HTK has a low potassium content (10 mmol/L) "obviating the need for in situ flush prior to revascularization", and has been show to reduce OR times. ^4,5
• Low potassium content allows direct release into recipients circulatory system ⁶
